Troubleshooting: my flow isn't replying
The five reasons a flow stays quiet, in the order to check them.
Check these in order
- Is the flow live? The switch on the Flows table must be on, and the trigger term must actually match the comment (check exact-match vs contains).
- Is an Instagram account connected? The strip at the top of Flows shows connected accounts; flows only run once at least one is connected.
- Is message access on? In the Instagram app: Settings → Messages and story replies → Message controls → allow access to messages for connected tools.
- Is the month's contact allowance used up? The Dashboard meter shows people reached; at the cap, replies to new people pause until the month resets (existing conversations continue).
- Is the subscription active? Trial ended or payment past due pauses flows; Settings → Plan shows the state and fixes it in one click.
Comment triggers bound to a specific reel only fire on that reel. If a flow has a Reel/post ID set, comments on other posts won't match it.
Still quiet?
Open a ticket from Help inside the app with the flow name and the time you tested; the activity feed timestamps every comment we received, which makes diagnosis fast. If a comment never appears in the feed at all, the webhook never reached us and we'll dig on our side.
